Tonnoil when applied on head exerts its action on throat by penetrating past the dermis of skin. Oil is composed of tiny molecules in which medicines are dissolved, this allows it to penetrate easily in to the skin. Hence coconut oil is used as the base in the preparation Tonnoil . Local application of Tonnoil provides sustained relief to swollen lymphoid tissues of tonsils and adenoids with its anti-inflammatory action of the ingredients. Tonnoil also provides relief in inflamed oropharyngeal mucosa relieving pharyngeal irritation.

Disclaimer : Tonnoil should not be recommended in patients with fever and severe infection. This condition should be corrected prior to application of Tonnoil. Gargling with warm salt water reduces the pain and swelling.
